## Synopsis

Still Up (2023) is a British comedy series created by Steve Burge and Natalie Walter and released on Apple TV. Bonded by insomnia, best friends Lisa (Antonia Thomas) and Danny (Craig Roberts) keep each other company through the late hours, texting, talking and wandering into a run of odd, unexpected situations that gradually deepen their bond. Lisa and Danny are the engine of the show: they want to remain comfortable together without admitting what their closeness might mean, and every nocturnal misadventure tests that line. The eight episodes, each about twenty-five minutes long, are built around these conversations and the strange encounters that break up the nights, with a supporting cast that includes Blake Harrison as Veggie, Samantha Spiro as Christine and Rich Fulcher as Cat Man. The series is a single season of short, intimate episodes, a wry and tender take on the friends-to-lovers premise. Its tone is breezy, warm and a little wistful, with a sincere undercurrent beneath the jokes. Viewers who enjoy the awkward intimacy of Catastrophe and the dry sweetness of Fleabag will find resonance here, as will fans of Lovesick's romantic friendship comedy.
