## Synopsis

Springfloden (2016-2018) is a Swedish national-television nordic noir series created by Rolf Börjlind, Cecilia Börjlind and Niklas Ohlson for SVT1. Homeless former detective Tom Stilton (Kjell Bergqvist) and aspiring police officer Olivia Rönning (Julia Ragnarsson) join forces to reopen a cold case in which a pregnant woman was buried alive on a beach on North Koster Island. Stilton's rough, weathered presence contrasts with Rönning's eager, rule-bound drive, and the two push through a web of old secrets, reluctant witnesses and institutional indifference. Supporting roles include Cecilia Nilsson as Mette Olsäter, Dar Salim as Abbas El Fassi and Alexandra Rapaport as Charlotte Pram. The show runs for two seasons of ten episodes each, with the investigation advancing through interviews, dead-end leads and quiet confrontations rather than action set pieces. Its tone is bleak, austere and melancholic, with cold coastal landscapes and a steady undercurrent of dread. Fans of The Killing, The Bridge and Broadchurch will find resonance in its patient, character-driven mystery and its atmosphere of moral unease.
