## Synopsis

Woman of the Dead (2022-present) is an Austrian crime drama series created by Bernhard Aichner for ORF 1 and Netflix. Anna Maria Mühe plays Brünhilde Blum, a woman who sets out on a vengeful quest to find who killed her husband, and her investigation pulls her deeper into the small community around her. Each step she takes unsettles the people who thought their pasts were buried, and the local web of loyalties, lies and old grudges begins to give way. Supporting performances from Romina Küper, Emilia Pieske, Felix Klare and Simon Schwarz help anchor the ensemble of neighbors, friends and suspects. The series is built around a single murder mystery stretched across two seasons of six episodes each, with each episode peeling back another layer of local secrets. Its mood is bleak and intense, with a cold, rain-washed palette and a sense of dread that stays close to the characters. Viewers who enjoy Broadchurch, Top of the Lake and other European small town crime dramas will find the same blend of grief, suspicion and community rot here.
