## Synopsis

New Life Begins (2022) is a Chinese costume romance series created for iQIYI, produced by New Classics Media. Li Wei (Tian Xiwei) only wants to lose a marriage election held in the town of Xinchuan so she can live comfortably in her hometown, but she accidentally meets Yin Zheng, the sixth young master (Bai Jingting), and their relationship becomes the central thread. The series builds its engine around everyday moments: opening a home, going to court, and sharing meals and small crises with a household of siblings with different personalities and fates, including Yin An (Liu Guanlin), Yin Song (Zhang Xiaochen) and Hao Jia (Chen Xiaoyun). Across a single forty-episode season, each stretch of the story follows the family through ordinary days and seasons, with romance growing gradually rather than through dramatic set pieces. Set in a historical Chinese setting with courtyard households and palace-adjacent rituals, the tone is warm, wistful and gently comic, with a cozy, hopeful register. Fans of Story of Yanxi Palace, Eternal Love and Joy of Life will find resonance in its blend of costume romance and domestic ensemble comedy.
