## Synopsis

Doctor Cha (2023-present) is a South Korean medical comedy-drama created by Kim Dae-jin and Jung Yeo-rang for JTBC. Cha Jung-sook (Uhm Jung-hwa), a housewife who left her medical career twenty years earlier, returns to a hospital as a first-year resident and must learn the job from the bottom again while her family life grows more complicated. Supporting characters include Seo In-ho (Kim Byong-chul), Choi Seung-hee (Myung Se-bin) and Roy Kim (Min Woo-hyuk), whose interactions with Cha drive much of the show's workplace friction and romantic tension. The engine of the series is Cha's struggle to keep up with sleepless shifts, demanding seniors and younger colleagues while hiding parts of her personal life from those around her. The show unfolds as a one-season run of sixteen episodes, each mixing hospital cases, office politics and domestic fallout in a light, rapid rhythm. Its tone blends warm, self-deprecating humor with the heavier weight of marital betrayal and a second chance at identity. Fans of Hospital Playlist and Dr. Ki will find a similar blend of medical setting, gentle comedy and emotional stakes, set in contemporary Seoul.
