## Synopsis

Rebooting (2023) is a Japanese comedy drama series created by Bakarhythm for Nippon TV. Sakura Ando plays Kondo Asami, a thirty-three-year-old single woman who lives with her parents and works at the local city hall, and whose ordinary routine is suddenly interrupted when she finds herself starting her life over from scratch. Kaho plays her old friend Kadokura Natsuki, and Haruka Kinami plays Yonekawa Miho, while younger versions of Asami are played by Yuno Nagao, Ami Wada and Runa Yasuhara as she returns to her childhood and school years. The engine of the story is Asami's attempt to use adult hindsight to correct missed chances in friendship, family and love, with each new cycle revealing how small decisions ripple outward. Each of its ten episodes unfolds in a single season of gentle, warm storytelling, mixing karaoke nights, office routines and kitchen table conversations with emotional reckonings. The tone is wistful and funny, with a soft nostalgic ache that rewards patient viewers. Set across Japanese suburban and small city life, it tracks a single contained arc in one season. Fans of Russian Doll, Groundhog Day and Mr. Sunshine will find resonance in its blend of time travel, character comedy and reflective drama.
