## Synopsis

Call It Love (2023) is a South Korean melodrama series created by Lee Gwang-young and Kim Eun-ji for Disney+. Woojoo (Lee Sung-kyung) sees her family suddenly left homeless and resolves to take revenge on the injustices she has suffered, targeting Han Dong-jin (Kim Young-kwang), a man she believes is her foe. Dongjin, however, turns out to be a heart-wrenchingly lonely and gentle soul, and the engine of the series is the tension between Woojoo's grudge and the slow pull of his quiet vulnerability. The story unfolds across a single season of sixteen hour-long episodes, a continuing serialized romance rather than a case-of-the-week format. Supporting characters including Yoon Joon (Sung Joon), Kang Min-young (Hani), and Kim Ye-won as Shim Hye-sung widen the circle around the leads. The tone is melancholic and emotionally layered, with themes of trauma, healing, and loneliness foregrounded alongside a patient, slow burn romance. Fans of Crash Landing on You, It's Okay to Not Be Okay, and Itaewon Class will find resonance in its blend of wounded characters, class-tinged hardship, and tender romantic restraint.
