## Synopsis

Bay of Fires (2023-present) is an Australian crime mystery drama series created by Andrew Knight, Max Dann and Marta Dusseldorp for ABC TV. Marta Dusseldorp stars as Stella Heikkinen, a woman who is unexpectedly dropped with her children into a small community, where she must navigate its simmering feuds. Toby Leonard Moore plays Jeremiah, and Pamela Rabe appears as Magda, both figures woven into the town's tensions. Ava Caryofyllis and Imi Mbedla play Stella's children, Iris and Otis, whose safety and belonging keep the stakes personal. The engine of the series is a newcomer's attempt to keep her family grounded while crime and murder surface beneath the surface of a close-knit place. Each season unfolds as a serialized mystery over eight episodes, with local grudges and buried secrets steadily pulling the outsider deeper into the community's history. Set in a remote Australian coastal town, the show builds an atmosphere of unease and quiet menace, with a brooding, tense register. Fans of Top of the Lake, Broadchurch and Mare of Easttown will find resonance in its small-town dread, its layered family dynamics and its slow-burning investigative mood.
