## Synopsis

Far from Home (2022) is a Nigerian drama series created by Chinaza Onuzo and Dami Elebe for Netflix. Following a scholarship student named Ishaya, the story follows a young man who wins a place at a top school and is suddenly immersed in the luxurious world of Nigeria's privileged elite. Funke Akindele, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Mike Afolarin, Elma Mbadiwe and Gbubemi Ejeye appear in the principal cast. The engine of the series is the tension between Ishaya's hard-won belonging and a secret that threatens to undo his new position, as every episode layers social pressure, family expectation and the anxious performance of fitting in among wealthy classmates. Its five episodes make up a single compact arc, a short limited run that moves briskly through school corridors, lavish homes and private gatherings in contemporary Lagos. The tone is tense and personal, with moments of relatable youthful awkwardness and class-conscious unease. Viewers who enjoy Elite and Sex Education will recognize the same scrutiny of privilege, outsider vulnerability and adolescent secrecy, filtered through a distinctly Nigerian setting and sensibility.
