## Synopsis

The Traitors (2023-present) is an American reality game show created for NBC and Peacock, with a six-season run so far. Hosted by award-winning actor Alan Cumming, the format places contestants in an ancient castle deep in the Scottish Highlands, where they take part in exhilarating group missions to build a shared prize fund worth up to $250,000. Hidden among the Faithful are the Traitors, whose goal is to eliminate the honest players one by one and claim the money for themselves. The engine is suspicion: every player must read faces, weigh alliances, and decide whom to banish at the round table, knowing that a single wrong vote can hand the game to the deceivers. Each season unfolds as a sequence of missions and banishment rounds, with the castle's grounds keeper Fergus, played by John Ritchie, a recurring presence in the background. The tone mixes tense paranoia with playful gamesmanship and bursts of theatrical drama. Fans of Survivor, Big Brother and social deduction party games will find the same pleasure in alliances breaking and trust being tested. Viewers who enjoy strategic bluffing, sharp table talk and a glamorous Highland setting will find the show a compelling watch.
