## Synopsis

Survivor (2000-present) is a long-running American reality competition created by Charlie Parsons and Mark Burnett and broadcast on CBS. Hosted throughout by Jeff Probst, who appears in all 741 episodes, the series follows sixteen or more castaways divided into rival tribes and dropped at a remote, isolated location where they must build shelter, find food and endure on meager supplies for roughly 39 days. The engine is simple and cutthroat: tribes fight over immunity and rewards in frequent physical and mental challenges, and the losing tribe must gather at Tribal Council, where players vote one of their own out of the game. Contestants such as Ethan Zohn, Yul Kwon and Sandra Diaz-Twine are among the many players whose alliances, betrayals and social reads shape each season. Across dozens of seasons it remains a serialized competition with strong season-long arcs, shifting cast and fresh locations. The tone is tense, strategic and often playful, with a camaraderie-versus-betrayal rhythm. Fans of Big Brother, The Amazing Race and Lost will find resonance in its mix of wilderness hardship, social gamesmanship and suspenseful elimination drama.
