## Synopsis

Castaway Diva (2023) is a South Korean limited series created by Oh Choong-hwan and Park Hye-ryun for tvN, a k-drama romcom blending comedy, drama and music. Park Eun-bin plays Seo Mok-ha, an aspiring singer who returns to society after fifteen years stranded on a remote island, determined to become a diva despite the years lost to isolation. Chae Jong-hyeop and Cha Hak-yeon play the childhood friends whose bond with her is tested by separation and reunion, while Kim Hyo-jin appears among the principal cast. The engine of the story is Mok-ha's relentless push to re-enter a fast, competitive entertainment industry, where talent agencies, rivals and old wounds stand in her way, and each episode mixes rebuilding a life from scratch with buoyant musical set pieces. Told in a twelve-episode run of roughly seventy-five minutes each, the show moves between her island past and her present ambitions. The tone is earnest, warm and comedic, with a heartfelt undercurrent of longing and friendship. Fans of Crash Landing on You and Reply 1988 will find kindred warmth, romance and nostalgia here, along with the aspirational pull of a comeback story.
