## Synopsis

The New Adventures of Jonny Quest (1986-1987) is an American animated action adventure series created by Doug Wildey, William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for syndication. Jonny Quest, the young son of scientist Dr. Quest (voiced by Don Messick), travels the world with his bodyguard Race Bannon (Granville Van Dusen), his Indian friend Hadji (Rob Paulsen) and the comic family bulldog Bandit, voiced by Messick. Scott Menville voices Jonny. Each episode is a self-contained case: the team investigates strange phenomena and runs into a parade of villains, most prominently the returning enemy Dr. Zin, with Frank Welker voicing one-off foe Dr. Phorbus. The engine is simple and brisk: a mystery arrives, the team tracks it across distant locations, and a dangerous confrontation follows. Shaped as a single thirteen-episode season of twenty-five-minute installments, the series delivers breezy, lighthearted adventure with a sense of wonder and a dose of old-fashioned family camaraderie. It sits in the tradition of Hanna-Barbera action cartoons and will appeal to fans of the 1964 Jonny Quest, Batman: The Animated Series and Teen Titans, who enjoy cartoon heroics for younger viewers.
