## Synopsis

Meet Yourself (2023) is a Chinese national-television slice of life drama series created by Ding Ziguang for Hunan Television and Mango TV. Across one continuous forty-episode season, Xu Hongdou (Liu Yifei) quits her job after the sudden death of her closest friend and travels to a village in southern China to carry out that friend's dying wish. Her three-month stay turns into something longer as she meets Xie Zhiyao (Li Xian), Lin Na (Hu Bingqing) and Granny Xie (Wu Yanshu), and the village routines of farming, shared meals and small community tasks slowly give her a new purpose. Each episode moves at an unhurried pace, built from everyday rural moments, quiet conversations and friendships that deepen over time. The romance grows as a slow burn rather than a rush, and the mood is gentle, wistful and healing, with grief kept present under the warmth. Viewers who enjoy patient countryside dramas with a sense of renewal will find resonance here, in the vein of Heartstopper and the reflective rural journeys of Studio Ghibli films. The series is a single completed season, set in the present day of its broadcast in a rural southern Chinese village.
