## Synopsis

The Franchise is an American satirical comedy series created by Jon Brown for HBO, a single-season run of eight half-hour episodes. Himesh Patel plays Daniel Kumar, a member of the crew on an unloved superhero franchise movie, alongside Aya Cash and Billy Magnussen as collaborators whose egos and ambitions collide as the production lurches from one disaster to the next. Each episode is built from set-level crises, studio notes, cast tantrums and the constant pressure to salvage a film nobody seems to want. The engine is simple: the crew wants to keep their jobs and dignity while a savage, unruly cinematic universe grinds them down. The tone is acid, breezy and irreverent, with a mocking eye on how blockbusters are assembled. Viewers who enjoy Entourage, Extras and The Studio will find resonance in its sharp industry satire, its cringe comedy and its affectionate cynicism about hollywood filmmaking.
