## Synopsis

Blood Coast (2023-2025) is a French crime drama series created by Olivier Marchal for Netflix. Set in present-day Marseille, it follows a rogue police captain and his daredevil squad as they confront a vicious drug dealer determined to overtake the city's underworld. Tewfik Jallab plays Lyès Benamar, Nicolas Duvauchelle plays Franck Murillo, and Florence Thomassin plays Commissaire Fabiani, with Jeanne Goursaud as Alice Vidal, the new recruit who arrives with an agenda of her own. The engine of the show is a cat and mouse war between cops who bend procedure and traffickers who fight for territory, and each episode is built around raids, pursuits and street confrontations. Across two seasons the story stays in one continuing arc rather than standalone cases, giving it a serialized shape of a short run with a returning status. The gritty, tense atmosphere of the port city, with its grimy streets and hard men, sits in the vein of Braquo and The Shield, and fans of Narcos will recognise its drug trade tension. Its tone is propulsive and violent, with an emphasis on action set pieces over psychological depth, and it rewards viewers who want a fast, rough crime story.
