## Synopsis

The Killing Vote is a South Korean crime thriller miniseries that drops its audience into a moral dilemma about public judgment. A masked figure known as Gaetal summons citizens to vote through a smartphone app on whether individuals who escaped the justice system should be executed by vigilante means. Each episode is built around the shifting vote tallies, the ordinary people casting them, and the investigators and officials racing to stop the killings. Because it is a single continuing story rather than a case of the week, its questions about collective responsibility, the death penalty and the dangers of digital crowds deepen as the run goes on. Set in contemporary South Korea, the atmosphere is tense and paranoid, with everyday citizens becoming complicit in life-and-death decisions. The tone is bleak and propulsive, and the drama lingers on guilt, fear and the uneasy pull of retribution. Viewers who enjoy Black Mirror, Happiness and Dexter will find the same moral unease and the same fascination with vigilante justice.
