## Synopsis

Heweliusz (2025) is a Polish Netflix limited series, a five-episode disaster drama that follows the long aftermath of a catastrophic ferry sinking. Magdalena Różczka stars as Jolanta Ułasiewicz, with Borys Szyc as Andrzej Ułasiewicz and Michał Żurawski, Konrad Eleryk and Justyna Wasilewska anchoring the principal cast. An off-duty captain pushes relentlessly for answers and justice, pressing the inquiries and institutions that failed the dead while confronting the families they left behind. Each hour moves between the raw wreckage of loss and the slow grind of official evasion, building a procedural mystery out of documents, testimonies and grief. The tone is sombre, morally weighted and emotionally raw, with a measured pace that rewards close attention rather than cheap thrills. Viewers who loved Chernobyl, Unbelievable and Mare of Easttown will find resonance in its blend of catastrophe, institutional failure and characters refusing to let the truth stay buried beneath the water.
