## Synopsis

Go Ahead, Brother (2024) is a Polish crime action series created for Netflix, offering a neo-western take on contemporary crime. Oskar Gwiazda (Piotr Witkowski), a dismissed special operations officer, struggles to adapt to a humbling job in retail security, where his training and restlessness sit uneasily beside the mundane routines of shop floors and surveillance monitors. When he spots a way to solve his mounting financial troubles, he is drawn into a world of shady deals and dangerous associates, with his brother-in-law Sylwek Zajfert (Konrad Eleryk) pulled along in the rush. Damian Czorny (Marcin Kowalczyk) and Czorny Senior (Cezary Żak) embody the criminal milieu that tempts and threatens them. The show is a brief, action-forward run with a single season of seven episodes, with a second season already on the way. Its engine is the tension between a hardened ex-soldier's skills and his need for money, set against a gritty Polish backdrop of frontier-like lawlessness. Its tone is tense and propulsive, with a grounded, unsentimental edge and a bruising moral ambiguity. Fans of Banshee, Narcos and Justified will find resonance in its hard-edged characters and their sense of a world operating outside the law.
