## Synopsis

Wie is de Mol? (1999-2026) is a Dutch reality game show created by Michiel Devlieger, Tom Lenaerts, Michel Vanhove and Bart De Pauw for NPO 1 and NPO 2. Ten candidates compete through assignments that earn money for a shared pot, but one of them is secretly the Mole, whose job is to make the tasks fail and keep the winnings low. The other players must unmask the saboteur before they are voted out. Each episode ends with a multiple-choice test about the Mole's identity, and the contestant with the fewest correct answers is executed from the game. The engine is pure suspicion: players read each other's body language, alliances and slips, and the Mole must lie convincingly while staying hidden. Hosts Angela Groothuizen, Karel van de Graaf and Pieter Jan Hagens guide the games across a long run of twenty-six seasons, each a fresh group of ten strangers and a new hidden traitor. The tone is playful and breezy, with flashes of paranoia and comic embarrassment when a confident accusation collapses. Fans of Survivor, Traitors and Expeditie Robinson will find resonance in its blend of group challenges, shifting loyalties and social deduction. The show is a long-running Dutch tradition that rewards attentive viewers who like puzzles.
