## Synopsis

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead (2023) is a Japanese seinen anime series created for MBS and TBS, adapted from the manga, and produced by BUG FILMS and Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions. Akira Tendo (Shuichiro Umeda) is an overworked 24-year-old who, just as a zombie outbreak sweeps across the country, decides to finally live a little and draft a bucket list of experiences before he is turned. Shizuka Mikazuki (Tomori Kusunoki) and Kenichiro Ryuzaki (Makoto Furukawa) are among the principal characters pulled into his struggle to survive while chasing his list. Across a single twelve-episode season, the engine of the show is a simple tension between frantic survival and a stubborn desire to enjoy whatever time is left, with each episode built from a new item on the list colliding with the chaos of a city overrun by the undead. The show plays as a shonen-adjacent action comedy with gory outbreaks and sharp dark humor, its tone swinging between cheerful optimism and bleak dread. Its setting is a present-day Japan falling into collapse. Fans of Shaun of the Dead, Highschool of the Dead and The Walking Dead will find resonance in its blend of zombie terror, comedy and heartfelt camaraderie.
