## Synopsis

Vivant (2023-present) is a Japanese TBS television drama series that blends spy thriller, corporate intrigue and comedy. Ryosho employee Yusuke Nogi is an office man who discovers that ten times the required down payment was mistakenly wired to GFL, a local infrastructure firm tied to a solar plant in a Balkan republic in Central Asia. Suspected of involvement, he travels to collect the missing ninety million dollars, and with help from his CIA friend Sam he begins tracing the money as it was laundered into diamonds by a terrorist group. The engine of the show is a mismatched man chasing a paper trail through dangerous terrain, with each stretch built from negotiations, border crossings, chases and shifting alliances. The story unfolds as one continuing arc rather than standalone cases. The tone is brisk and playful, with comic beats sitting beside tense, visceral action and a sense of political conspiracy. Set across Central Asia and Tokyo, it carries a wry, adventurous register. Fans of Alias, Burn Notice and Kingdom will find resonance here.
