## Synopsis

Saint X (2023) is an American limited series created by Leila Gerstein for Hulu, adapted from a novel. Alycia Debnam-Carey plays Emily Thomas, a young woman whose mysterious death during an idyllic Caribbean vacation sets off a traumatic ripple effect through her family. West Duchovny plays her sister Alison Thomas, who is pulled into a dangerous pursuit of the truth, while Betsy Brandt plays their mother Mia Thomas and Josh Bonzie plays Clive 'GoGo' Richardson, a figure whose connection to the events complicates the search. The engine of the story is a grieving sibling refusing to accept the official account, with each step of her investigation pushing against the resort's polished surface and the secrets people hold beneath it. The eight-episode run moves between the present-day search and earlier moments that reveal how the trip unraveled, so the mystery builds through fragments rather than a single line of inquiry. Its tone is melancholic and suspenseful, with a psychological thriller undercurrent that keeps viewers guessing. Its atmosphere is one of sun-bleached beauty curdling into unease, tied to the intimate grief of a family coming apart. Fans of Big Little Lies, The Affair and The Leftovers will find resonance in its blend of glossy setting, layered secrets and emotional aftermath.
