## Synopsis

Joey (2004-2006) is an American multi-camera sitcom created by Shana Goldberg-Meehan and Scott Silveri for NBC, a spin-off of Friends that follows Matt LeBlanc as Joey Tribbiani, an affable aspiring actor who leaves his old New York circle behind and settles in Los Angeles. Joey reunites with his high-strung sister Gina (Drea de Matteo), a stylish hairdresser, and moves into her home with her brilliant graduate-student son Michael (Paulo Costanzo), a young rocket scientist who is everything Joey is not in book smarts. The engine of the show is the uncle and nephew odd couple: Joey wants work, romance and a sense of belonging, while Michael tries to keep his academic life on track around him. Each episode is built from everyday household mishaps, auditions, dating misadventures and the neighborhood friendships Joey slowly builds, with Andrea Anders as Alex Garrett and Jennifer Coolidge as Bobbie Morganstern adding comic chemistry. Across two seasons and 46 twenty-two-minute episodes, the series keeps a breezy, warm tone and a sunny Hollywood backdrop, and it will appeal to fans of Friends and of gentle, character-driven sitcoms like Mike and Molly and Two and a Half Men.
