## Synopsis

Underdogs (2025) is a United States factual nature documentary series created for National Geographic, narrated with wry warmth by Ryan Reynolds. Across a single five-episode season of roughly 37 minutes each, it follows the animal kingdom's least glamorous residents, the creatures whose hidden talents, bold hygiene choices, unsavory courtship rituals, devious camouflage, and blunt tough love parenting make them unlikely heroes. Rather than chasing predators and dramatic hunts, each episode builds its engine from a parade of odd behaviors that a viewer roots for as if following a scrappy underdog team, with the narration supplying affectionate jokes and gentle suspense about whether a creature's strange strategy will work. The atmosphere is playful, sincere and breezy, with a celebratory regard for the unpredictable that never mocks its subjects. Its natural-history look and comic commentary make it a good fit for fans of Planet Earth II, Our Planet and Animals with Cameras, and for anyone who wants a family-friendly wildlife program that laughs with the animals rather than at them. Its single season is currently the whole run, and the series is presented as a returning title.
