## Synopsis

The Gold (2023-2025) is a British crime drama series created by Neil Forsyth for BBC One, a two-season dramatisation of the Brink's-Mat bullion robbery. On 26 November 1983, six armed men break into a London security depot and find gold worth millions, and the story follows the gang members, including Kenny Noye (Jack Lowden) and John Palmer (Tom Cullen), as they try to launder and hide their haul while the stakes climb. Opposite them stands DCI Brian Boyce (Hugh Bonneville), a detective chasing the money and the men behind it. Each episode is built from meticulous planning, tense surveillance, shifting alliances, and the mounting pressure of a fortune nobody can safely spend. Set in 1980s London and the wider underworld it touches, the series has a gritty, grounded, suspenseful register, where greed and loyalty erode quietly under pressure. Fans of Line of Duty and Peaky Blinders will find resonance in its British crime texture, morally compromised characters, and true events turned into taut, character-driven drama across its twelve episodes.
