## Synopsis

The Clone is a Brazilian telenovela created by Glória Perez for TV Globo, a long-form serial that unfolds over many months of daily episodes. Lucas Ferraz falls into a forbidden romance with Jade during a trip to Morocco, and the two are pulled apart when Lucas returns to Brazil after the death of his twin brother Diogo. Family friend and scientist Dr. Augusto Albieri exploits that grief by producing a human clone from cells taken from Lucas, setting the family drama in motion. The engine of the show is love stretched across two cultures and two faiths, with Jade's family traditions and Lucas's Brazilian household colliding through arranged expectations, jealousy and secrets. Its episodes are built from domestic confrontations, family meals, rivalries and romantic reunions that carry the emotional weight of a classic soap. Blending melodrama with a science-fiction premise, the series is sweeping, sentimental and occasionally breathless, and fans of Terra Nostra and Dallas will find resonance in its serial romance and multigenerational intrigue.
