## Synopsis

Gangnam B-Side (2024) is a South Korean crime thriller series created for Disney+ and rated TV-MA. Detective Kang Dongwoo (Jo Woo-jin) returns to his old beat to crack the disappearance of Jaehee (BIBI), a top call girl at a Gangnam club, while prosecutor Min Seojin (Ha Yoon-kyung) pursues a case that could lift her career. Their investigation pulls in the notorious pimp Yoon Gilho (Ji Chang-wook), who quickly becomes the prime suspect and whose world of clubs, debts, and back-room favors sits at the seedy heart of the story. The engine is a tangle of secrets and connections: every interview peels back another layer of the city's nightlife economy and the people who profit from it. Presented as a single eight-episode run of roughly 47 minutes each, it is one continuing mystery rather than a case-of-the-week format. The atmosphere is gritty and claustrophobic, with neon-lit streets, smoky interiors, and a brooding, morally murky register. Fans of Stranger and Signal, with their Korean crime noir and corrupt institutions, will find resonance here, along with the tense, character-driven investigations of Vincenzo.
