## Synopsis

Little Britain USA (2008) is an American adaptation of the British sketch comedy series created by Matt Lucas and David Walliams for HBO. Its two stars reprise the exaggerated, grotesque personas that made the BBC original a hit, with each sketch built around a single outlandish character and a payoff that lands through escalating awkwardness. Rather than a continuing story, the show is a run of short self-contained sketches, and across its six half-hour episodes the pair move quickly between personas, using wigs, prosthetics and rapid costume changes. Celebrity cameos from figures such as Robert Vaughn, Paul Rudd, Rosie O'Donnell and Sting add a glossy American flavor to the broad, deliberately uncomfortable humor. The tone is irreverent and cringe-prone, with a sharp sense of British class satire and a taste for the grotesque. Fans of Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Kumars at No. 42 and the original Little Britain will find the same offbeat character comedy here, delivered in a shorter, sharper American format.
