## Synopsis

Earth 2 (1994-1995) is an American science fiction drama created by Carol Flint, Billy Ray, Michael Duggan and Mark Levin for NBC. Set two centuries in a future where pollution has forced humanity into cramped space stations, the series follows scientist Devon Adair (Debrah Farentino), who hijacks a spacecraft and leads a small band of followers toward a distant planet that promises a safer life for children like her son Ulysses (Joey Zimmerman). Mechanic John Danziger (Clancy Brown) and team physician Julia Heller (Jessica Steen), who carries her own hidden agenda, travel alongside her, as do pilot Alonzo Solace (Antonio Sabàto Jr.) and the cyborg Yale (Sullivan Walker). The engine of the show is a fragile community trying to hold together while the journey goes wrong: the ship lands on the wrong side of the world, and the colonists must cross hostile, unfamiliar terrain on foot with limited supplies and shifting loyalties. Each episode mixes frontier peril with interpersonal friction, giving the single 22-episode season a serialized shape. Its tone is earnest and hopeful, with a wistful undercurrent of loss and sacrifice. Fans of Lost in Space, Seaquest DSV and Space: Above and Beyond will find a similar mix of family-minded adventure and survival drama.
