## Synopsis

Lab Coat (2023) is an Egyptian comedy miniseries produced by Watch iT! and set in a rural village. Its ten episodes of roughly twenty-five minutes each follow Atef (Essam Omar), a newly graduated young doctor who is assigned to a local health unit and then unexpectedly finds himself its director, responsible for everything from staffing to the patients who wait in its corridors. The engine of the show is his mismatch between enthusiasm and experience, as he tries to keep the clinic running while colleagues and villagers test his patience. Supporting characters include the eccentric Abdelbadie El Tarshoukhi (Mohamed Mahmoud), the clinic doctor Samir (Mahmoud Hafez), and the doctor Hager (Mariam El Gendy), whose everyday interactions give each episode its shape. Episodes are light, self-contained vignettes built around small crises of village medicine, linked by a single continuing arc of Atef learning to lead. The tone is warm, breezy and gently absurd, with a family-friendly sense of humor. Fans of The Office, Scrubs and Doc Martin will find resonance in its blend of workplace comedy and small-community charm.
