## Synopsis

Boiling Point (2023) is a British television drama series created by Stephen Graham, James Cummings and Philip Barantini for BBC One. Head chef Carly (Vinette Robinson) is struggling to make a name for Point North, a new London restaurant, eight months after her mentor Andy Jones (Stephen Graham) suffered a heart attack. Her old kitchen crew, including Dean (Gary Lamont), Emily (Hannah Walters) and Robyn (Áine Rose Daly), must keep the restaurant alive while juggling their complicated personal lives. The engine of the show is the daily grind of the pass: every night brings new hungry customers to impress, mounting financial pressure to stay profitable, and cramped kitchen tempers that spill into friendships and romance. Each episode is a single cramped, frantic service stretched across its runtime, making the workplace itself the drama. Set in contemporary London, the series unfolds as a single four-episode run, a brief and intimate limited series. Its tone is sentimental, tense and compassionate, grounded in kitchen-sink realism rather than glossy food spectacle. Fans of The Bear and the raw working-class British drama This Is England will find resonance in its messy, emotionally honest portrait of people trying to hold together under pressure.
