## Synopsis

Dexter: Original Sin (2024-2025) is a US premium crime drama prequel to the Showtime series Dexter, created by Clyde Phillips for Paramount+ with Showtime. Patrick Gibson plays a young Dexter Morgan, a student turning toward his bloodthirsty urges while learning from his adoptive father Harry, played by Christian Slater, who gives him a strict code for choosing victims who have escaped justice. Molly Brown plays his sister Debra, and Christina Milian plays Maria LaGuerta, both part of the Miami police world that Dexter quietly enters through a forensics internship. The engine of the story is Dexter's struggle to hide his compulsions from investigators while refining the rules that will govern his double life, with each episode built around a dangerous balancing act between secrecy and appetite. The series runs a single ten-episode season and was canceled before its story could be completed. Set in 1991 Miami, it trades the sun-drenched humidity and police bureaucracy of the era for a tense, morally knotted atmosphere. Its tone is dark, violent, and often wry, with a voice-over inner monologue that keeps viewers close to the protagonist. Fans of Dexter, Hannibal, and Breaking Bad will find resonance in its portrait of a killer's moral logic.
