## Synopsis

The Agency (2024-2026) is a US prestige spy thriller series created by Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth for Paramount+ with Showtime. Michael Fassbender plays Brandon Martian Colby, a covert CIA agent ordered back from his undercover life to London Station, where his dual identity as Paul Lewis is already fragile. Jeffrey Wright plays Henry Ogletree, the station veteran who presses him for answers, while Jodie Turner-Smith plays Dr Samia Sami Zahir, a figure entangled in the operation. When Martian's former love unexpectedly resurfaces, a romance reignites that collides with his career and his mission, pulling him into a deadly game of international intrigue. Each season is a single continuing story of two ten-episode runs, built from office maneuvering, clandestine meetings and field operations that keep the question of who can be trusted open. The atmosphere is grim, foreboding and paranoid, with a restrained, morally compromised register that leans on suspense more than spectacle. Set in present-day London and the wider intelligence world, it is a hard-edged drama shaped by the tradition of prestige espionage. Fans of The Night Manager, The Americans and Slow Horses will find resonance in its cold, adult tone and divided loyalties.
