## Synopsis

The 4400 (2004-2007) is an American science fiction drama created by Scott Peters and René Echevarria for USA Network. Thousands of people who vanished or were presumed dead reappear on Earth, unaged, some carrying superhuman strength or an unexplained healing touch. A federal agency forms to track the returnees after one of them commits a murder, and the engine of the show is the tension between families reuniting with loved ones and a government treating them as a threat. Its four seasons unfold as a serialized mystery with each episode adding new pieces to the puzzle of where the returnees have been. The tone is wistful and suspenseful, with a grounded, character-centered approach to paranormal questions. Fans of Lost and Fringe will find resonance in its blend of mystery and human drama.
