## Synopsis

Outlast (2023-present) is an American reality survival competition created for Netflix, now in its second season with sixteen episodes so far. Sixteen self-reliant survivalists are dropped into the extreme Alaskan wilderness, each hoping to claim a massive cash prize, yet the rules demand that these lone wolves form working teams to win. The engine of the format is the tension between individual ambition and collective need: contestants must build shelter, find food, and endure brutal weather while deciding whom to ally with and whom to suspect. Each episode is built from challenges, alliance shifts, and the quiet calculations made around the campfire as the group thins. The format is presented as a single continuing competition across two seasons rather than a set of standalone contests. The mood is gritty and tense, with an undercurrent of paranoia about who can be trusted when resources run low. Fans of Survivor, Alone and The Traitors will find resonance in its blend of physical hardship, social strategy and shifting loyalties in an unforgiving landscape.
