## Synopsis

The Great Cleric (2023) is a Japanese animated isekai series produced by Yokohama Animation Laboratory and broadcast on TBS, adapted from a light novel. After an untimely death, a salaryman is reborn in a magical fantasy world as Luciel, voiced by Reiji Kawashima, who wants nothing more than a peaceful life as a healer. Brod (Akio Otsuka), Gulgar (Tomoaki Maeno), Galba (Daisuke Ono), and Nanaera (Hina Tachibana) surround him, and the engine of the show is the gap between his modest hopes and the brutal, regimented training that his new vocation demands. Each episode moves through lessons, hard drills, and small victories as he tries to survive in a land that feels nothing like the office he left behind. The single season of twelve episodes, runs about twenty-four minutes each, and keeps its focus on one continuing arc of growth. The tone is light and comic, with a warm, slice of life sensibility softening the fantasy action, and the heart of the series lies in the quiet humor of an ordinary man trying to find stability. Fans of Re:Zero, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime and Mushoku Tensei will find resonance in its reincarnation premise and gentle isekai mood.
