## Synopsis

The Last Frontier (2025) is a US crime western drama created by Jon Bokenkamp and Richard D'Ovidio for Apple TV. Across a single ten-episode season, the lone U.S. marshal Frank Remnick (Jason Clarke) must protect the remote Alaskan town he has sworn to keep safe after a prison transport plane crashes in the surrounding wilderness and frees dozens of violent inmates. Sidney Scofield (Haley Bennett) brings a covert intelligence angle, a CIA operative chasing a rogue figure while working both with and against the marshal, and Alfre Woodard plays Jacqueline Bradford among the principal cast. The engine is a hunt across hundreds of thousands of square miles of frozen tundra, where every episode pits scarce lawmen and townspeople against desperate outlaws and the cold itself. Its contemporary setting is the present-day Alaskan interior, with the isolation of a frontier town feeding a tense, grim atmosphere. Tone is gritty and propulsive, with moral ambiguity and the question of who can be trusted driving the story. Fans of Justified, Fargo and Fortitude will find resonance in its blend of rugged landscape, lawmen and conspiracy.
