## Synopsis

Lee San, Wind in the Palace (2007-2008) is a Korean historical drama series created by Kim Yi-young for MBC, a 77-episode k-drama and a single-season run. Lee Seo-jin plays Yi San, the intelligent and warm-hearted prince who watches his father die when he is only eleven and must then survive the court to become king. Han Ji-min plays Seong Song-yeon, a gifted painter from a flower garden family who enters the royal art department and forms a bond with him that must bridge a wide gap in status. Lee Soon-jae plays the wary King Yeongjo, whose grandson's rise is shadowed by rival factions and hidden schemes. Set in eighteenth-century Joseon Korea, the palace is a place of ceremony, factional plotting, and quiet danger, and the series builds its engine from the steady pressure on a young prince trying to hold his principles while outmaneuvering enemies. Each stretch of the story moves at a deliberate pace, with long court negotiations and personal stakes that accumulate over time. The tone is melancholic yet hopeful, with warmth in the friendships and romance. Fans of Dae Jang Geum, The Kingdom of the Winds and The Crown will find resonance in its blend of palace politics and personal longing.
