## What critics say

Reviewers broadly regard the Danish true-crime miniseries as a tense, grounded hospital thriller whose slow-building suspicion works better than its broader execution.

## Synopsis

The Nurse is a Danish true-events crime drama miniseries that follows Pernille, a fresh-faced nurse at a contemporary Danish hospital. Fanny Louise Bernth plays Pernille with a quiet, persistent intensity that makes her an easy anchor for the viewer. When she notices the attention-seeking behavior of her colleague Christina, played by Josephine Park, she begins to question what she sees on the ward. Across four episodes, the series builds tension from small observations, doubts, and the cost of being ignored or disbelieved by colleagues who prefer routine to scrutiny. Its procedural rhythm rewards patience, and its emotional weight comes from the fragility of trust in a place built on care. The tone is tense, somber, and claustrophobic, with a grounded realism that keeps the drama close to its characters. Clinical corridors, break rooms, and shift handovers become places of unease where everyone has a reason to look away. Viewers who enjoy Nordic noir, true-story medical thrillers, and stories about institutional blind spots will find its slow dread and moral seriousness rewarding.
