## Synopsis

Mujer de Madera (2004-2005) is a Mexican telenovela produced by Televisa for Las Estrellas, a single-season romantic melodrama of 205 episodes. Its central figure, Marissa Santibáñez Villalpando, is played by Edith González before a hospital stay that follows a forest fire and by Ana Patricia Rojo after it, a change that unsettles everyone around her. Gabriel Soto plays Carlos Gómez, a man drawn into her orbit, while Jaime Camil plays César Linares Ruiz, a rival suitor whose pursuit complicates the romance. Ludwika Paleta, María Sorté and Julio Alemán anchor the Santibáñez family, whose ambitions and grudges feed the intrigue. Each episode builds on romantic rivalry, secrets and reversals of fortune, with the long-form engine of a soap opera pushing love stories through jealousy and family conflict. The tone is heightened and sentimental, rich in longing and melodramatic confrontation. Fans of Rubí, La usurpadora and Yo soy Betty, la fea will find familiar resonance in its mix of identity confusion and sweeping romance.
