## Synopsis

Apples Never Fall (2024) is an American family drama miniseries created by Melanie Marnich and released on Peacock. Annette Bening and Sam Neill play Joy and Stan Delaney, former tennis coaches who have finally sold their celebrated academy and hoped to enjoy their golden years after fifty years of marriage. Their four adult children, including Alison Brie as Amy and Jake Lacy as Troy, appear from the outside to belong to an enviably contented household. When Joy disappears, the siblings are forced to revisit their parents' marriage and the family history they thought they understood. The engine of the seven-episode story is the slow accumulation of half-remembered details, competing loyalties and old resentments as each child pursues a different version of the truth. Episodes move between present-day searching and the past that shaped the household, building a layered, melancholic atmosphere of grief, suspicion and buried affection. Set in contemporary America, the series is grounded and character-driven, with a tone that blends wistful domestic reflection and quiet tension. Viewers who enjoy Big Little Lies and Mare of Easttown, with their polished suburban surfaces hiding fractures underneath, will find similar resonance here. The limited run gives the mystery room to breathe without overstaying its welcome.
