## Synopsis

Watch My Chops (2003-2016) is a French animated comedy series created by Emmanuel Franck, Stephan Franck and Marie-Caroline Villand, produced by Millimages and aired on France 3 and in the UK on CBBC. Its engine is the friction between Corneil, an intelligent talking dog with a fondness for catchphrases, and his harried dog-sitter Bernie Barges (voiced by Ben Small in the English dub, with Keith Wickham as Corneil). Each thirteen-minute episode is built from small domestic misadventures, mishaps and comic reversals in which the dog's wit repeatedly outmaneuvers his human's plans. The show runs for two seasons and about one hundred episodes, a light episodic format with no overarching mystery to track. Its look is bright, simple flash animation, and its tone is gentle, playful and breezy, pitched squarely at children and families. Fans of Courage the Cowardly Dog, Hey Arnold! and Bluey will find a similar warmth in its talking animal comedy and everyday chaos.
