## Synopsis

Wolf (2023) is a British crime thriller miniseries created by Megan Gallagher for BBC One. Ukweli Roach plays DI Jack Caffery, a young detective searching for himself, who is consumed by his suspicion that a neighbour murdered his ten-year-old brother back in the 1990s. Iwan Rheon plays Molina, the psychopath whose cruel games turn an isolated house in Monmouthshire into a prison for the wealthy Anchor-Ferrers family, with Juliet Stevenson as Matilda Anchor-Ferrers at the centre of the family's terror. Across six episodes, the story alternates between Jack's compulsive attempt to set old wrongs right and the family's mounting captivity, and the two threads eventually collide in a race against time. The engine is simple and relentless: a detective who wants to know the truth, a captor who wants to control everyone around him, and a household that has no way out. Set in present-day Wales and England, it is a tense, claustrophobic, deeply disturbing piece of television built for viewers who enjoy hostage dramas and character-driven procedurals. Fans of The Fall, Line of Duty and Hannibal will find resonance in its dread, its moral unease and its jagged, obsessive heroes. The tone is nail-biting and dark rather than cathartic, and the single-season run gives it a compact, unrelenting shape.
