## Synopsis

Doctor Slump (2024) is a South Korean romantic comedy drama series created by Oh Hyun-jong and Paek Sun-woo for JTBC. Park Shin-hye plays Nam Ha-neul and Park Hyung-sik plays Yeo Jeong-woo, two brilliant doctors who were rivals back in school and reunite by chance as adults. Each is caught in a personal slump, and the engine of the show is the push and pull between their professional pride and the quiet solace they find in one another as they navigate hospital shifts, old grudges, and the messy private lives around them. Yoon Park and Kong Seong-ha round out the principal cast as colleagues and friends whose own romantic entanglements drive many of the episodes. Told across a single sixteen-episode season of roughly sixty-five minutes each, the series moves in a warm, sweet register built on bright banter and dating-game charm, but it also turns sharply toward the taboo of depression, giving some scenes a raw, tear-jerking weight. The tone shifts between breezy and wistful, with a palpable tenderness running beneath the comedy. Its look and rhythms are those of a glossy Korean prime-time production, and viewers who enjoy the emotional swings of Crash Landing on You or the hospital-set romance of Hospital Playlist will find a familiar, comforting, and occasionally melancholy companion here.
