## Synopsis

C.I.D. (1998-2025) is a long-running Indian police procedural created by Brijendra Pal Singh and produced by Fireworks Production for Sony Entertainment Television, later available on Netflix and SonyLIV. Senior Inspector Daya (Dayanand Shetty) leads a team of investigators in the Crime Investigation Department, alongside forensic expert Dr. Tarika (Shraddha Musale), Sub-Inspector Avni (Saumya Saraswat Lol) and ACP Pradyuman (Shivaji Satham). Their engine is simple and relentless: to take on Mumbai's toughest and most tangled murders, often with little margin for error and with the city's dark underside pressing close. Each episode is built around a single case, unfolding through interrogations, forensic clues, and dramatic confrontations, while the team's personal bonds deepen across the years. The series spans more than two decades of broadcast, its second season arriving in 2024, and it sustains a steady, earnest register of suspense and moral urgency. Its episodic format and crowd-pleasing pace will appeal to viewers who enjoy the case-of-the-week rhythm of Law & Order and CSI, here rooted in the sprawling streets of Mumbai and the everyday grind of Indian policing.
