## Synopsis

The Impossible Heir (2024) is a South Korean chaebol drama series that aired on Disney+ as a single 12-episode season. It follows an ambitious young man, Han Tae-oh (Lee Jae-wook), who climbs from humble beginnings into an intense contest of desires among the country's wealthy families, with Kang In-ha (Lee Jun-young) and Na Hye-won (Hong Su-zu) among the principal figures around him. The engine is a relentless push for status: every episode turns on who wants what, who is willing to sacrifice for it, and how quickly alliances collapse under the weight of ambition. Each season-long arc builds through escalating rivalries, boardroom and family confrontations, and romantic entanglements rather than standalone cases. Set in contemporary Seoul, the show unfolds in glossy penthouses, corporate offices and elite social venues. Its tone is glamorous and melodramatic, with a steady undercurrent of tension and longing. Viewers who enjoy Sky Castle, Succession and Gossip Girl will find the same appetite for privileged rivalry and ambitious outsiders. The series delivers a polished, emotionally charged ride for fans of soapy, high-stakes family power plays.
