## Synopsis

Tempest (2025) is a South Korean and American co-produced political thriller series broadcast on Hulu and Disney+. Gianna Jun plays Seo Munju, a highly accomplished diplomat and former United Nations ambassador, opposite Gang Dong-won as Paik Sanho, an international special agent wrapped in secrets. Their engine is a race against conspiracy: each must uncover who is behind an attack that threatens the future stability of the Korean peninsula, while navigating allies and rivals who may not be what they seem. Supporting roles from Lee Mi-sook, Park Hae-joon and Oh Jung-se fill out a web of political maneuvering, and Christopher Gorham appears in the cast as well. The nine-episode story is a single continuous arc of about fifty-three minutes per episode, moving from briefing rooms and clandestine meetings to tense field operations. Its tone is tense and paranoid, with a thread of romance running beneath the espionage. Set in the present-day Korean peninsula, it has the diplomatic grit of a geopolitical drama and the pulse of an action thriller. Fans of The Night Manager and Tokyo Vice will find resonance in its blend of statecraft, covert operations and personal loyalty.
