## Synopsis

Hotel Babylon (2006-2009) is a British workplace drama series created by Imogen Edwards-Jones for BBC One, adapted from her own novel. Set inside a glamorous five-star London hotel, the show follows a team of ambitious staff members, including Sam Franklin (Nigel Harman), Charlie Edwards (Max Beesley) and Tony Casemore (Dexter Fletcher), as they juggle demanding guests, professional rivalries and tangled romances behind the polished facade of luxury. Rebecca Mitchell (Tamzin Outhwaite) and Anna Thornton-Wilton (Emma Pierson) add further layers of ambition and personal drama. Across four seasons of eight episodes each, the series runs as a serialized ensemble soap, with each episode built from the pressures of managing high-profile clients and the intrigues among colleagues. The tone is glossy, flirtatious and melodramatic, offering escapist glamour with a gossipy edge. Viewers who enjoy Upstairs Downstairs, Ugly Betty and Gossip Girl will find a similar appetite for lavish settings, romance and office politics. The overall mood is breezy and sensual rather than grim, rewarding viewers who want a stylish, character-driven soap set among the rich and fashionable.
