## Synopsis

Kryminalni (2004-2008) is a Polish crime drama series created by Piotr Wereśniak for TVN, produced by MTL Maxfilm. Following the elite Criminal Terror and Murders Division of the Warsaw Metropolitan Police, the show centers on the tough veteran detective Adam Zawada (Marek Włodarczyk), his younger partner Marek Brodecki (Maciej Zakościelny), and the ambitious rookie Barbara Storosz (Magdalena Schejbal), who joins the squad fresh out of graduation. The engine of the series is the steady flow of murders, robberies and violent crimes that the squad must solve, with each season built from self-contained investigations that test the detectives' methods, loyalties and nerve. Across eight seasons and 101 episodes, the show shifts between tense procedural work and quieter moments of personal strain, giving it a gritty, grounded tone. Its tradition is the Polish crime series that became a national habit, and fans of Law & Order, The Bridge and Homicide: Life on the Street will find resonance in its blend of case work and ensemble character drama. Many well-known Polish actors appear in guest roles tied to single cases, adding to its wide popular appeal. Set in contemporary Warsaw, it is a grounded, character-driven crime saga.
